Have you been working longer days from home during the pandemic?
Sending more email?
Sound like you?
You are not alone!
A recent study by academics from Harvard Business School and New York University found that many of us have been doing just that.
The study: Collaborating During Coronavirus: The Impact of COVID-19 on the Nature of Work looked at the data of 3.1 million people at more than 21,000 companies across 16 cities in North America, Europe and the Middle East who were working from home during the pandemic.
Some Key Findings →
▶️ Working Days have been 8% Longer
▶️ Number of Meetings has increased by 13%
▶️ 8% Increase in Sending Emails Out of Hours
▶️ 5% Increase in Sending Internal Emails
Perhaps obvious, but common frustrations expressed included the blurring of the line between work and home and the challenge of balancing children and work.
More interesting are going to be the findings of ongoing studies on the impact of forced work from home on productivity, morale, culture and costs.
